SIX Eco-Warriors Brought to Justice for Grand Prix Track Invasion!

A group of eco-activists have been told they're facing the slammer after causing a public disturbance at the British Grand Prix. The six “Just Stop Oil” protesters were found guilty of causing "immediate risk of serious harm" during their track invasion last July. The three-week trial at Northampton Crown Court saw F1 drivers Yuki Tsunoda and Esteban Ocon’s on-board footage shown to the jury as they passed the five men and one woman sitting on the track's Wellington Straight.

Lead defendant Louis McKechnie, 22, and five accomplices including David Baldwin, Emily Brocklebank, Alasdair Gibson, Bethany Mogie, and Joshua Smith were all found guilty of causing a public nuisance. Baldwin was caught red-handed in a car park with a Just Stop Oil banner and some sticky materials. The prosecutor Simon Jones told the court, "each of these defendants were present at Silverstone and they were intent on causing a disruption to the race."

McKechnie told the court the group had planned the protest for two-and-a-half months and was inspired by Gandhi's tactics. McKechnie stated, "Historically, this (direct action) is what works. It worked for the suffragettes, it worked for Gandhi... we are using their tactics because nothing else works."

Mr. Justice Neil Garnham has adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report and warned the defendants that all options, including imprisonment, are on the table. The six will be sentenced on March 31 and have been released on bail.

Time to face the music, eco-warriors! The Grand Prix ain't for hippy protests and track invasions!
