10 Major Road Closures Ahead: Brace Yourself for Gridlock Hell in Dorset

Brace yourself, Dorset drivers! The roads are about to get even more chaotic as ten closures will cause gridlock across the county this month! But, hold on, before you hit the roof, it's all for a good reason. Apparently, the roads need a little TLC in the form of some resurfacing work.
Yep, that's right! They're coating the roads with some fancy waterproof sealant that will not only make the roads last longer, but also increase skid resistance. It's all part of Dorset Highways' annual road maintenance programme which includes a variety of surface treatments, patching, micro-surfacing, road preservation, and resurfacing.
So, to make sure the work is done safely, the area of the road being worked on will be closed. And it's not just a quick in-and-out job either! The closures will take place between 9am and 4pm during the day, and 8pm to 6am at night.
And get this, here's the list of roads that'll be closed during the day:
•South Street, Bridport – until February 9
•B3164 Birdsmoor Gate – February 10 to 13
•C6 Winterborne Kingston – February 13 to 16
•Connaught Road, Weymouth -February 13 to 17
•Glennie Way, Chickerell – February 14 to 16
•B3390 Affpuddle – February 27 to March 1
And at night, be prepared for the following roads to be shut:
•Marston Road, Newell Junction, Sherborne – February 9 to 11
•Lower Acreman Street, Sherborne – February 20 and 21
•Radipole Lane, Weymouth – February 21 to 24
•East Street/Damory Court Junction, Blandford – February 20 to 25 and February 27 to March 1
So there you have it, folks. If you're planning a road trip in Dorset this month, you may want to pack a picnic and a deck of cards. Because you might be in for a long wait!
